Avenue Blue with guitarist extraordinaire Jeff Golub will also be featured on the main stage. Steeped in a background of jazz, blues and rock, the Ohio-born musician grabbed his first guitar at age eight, attended the Berklee School of Music in Boston, immersed himself in that city's progressive jazz scene, and eventually become a top session player and sideman for such rock luminaries as Rod Stewart and Billy Squier. Jeff created his own band, Avenue Blue, and produced "Avenue Blue," "Naked City" and his latest CD, "Nightlife"," which features soul, funk and blues stylings. He brings a sheer rawness to the edges of contemporary jazz that explores warm and cool textures, passion, romance, chemistry, improvisation and sultry expressions. |
